Hi mn3m,
Welcome to Dell community!
Based on the description, issue appears to be hardware related.
In XPS L502X laptop, integrated Intel HD Graphics card is the primary display adapter and the LCD is physically connected to it. NVidia GT540M is a discrete graphics card and it is used by graphic-intensive applications. NVidia Optimus Technology enables the automatic switching of the graphics card based on the requirement. Please refer the following article for more information about NVidia Optimus Technology: http://dell.to/19bAsTj
Have you checked if the issue occurs while in system BIOS? Restart the computer and tap F2 key at the Dell logo screen to enter the BIOS.
We can also check if the issue occurs in Safe mode. Refer the following link for instructions to boot the computer to Safe mode: http://dell.to/1960WEk
In addition to that, when the screen blacks out, connect an external monitor, if available, to the laptop and check if there is video output on the external monitor.
Do let me know the results.

it keep moving around the screen and the screen is flashing in black rapidly then i have a black screen
unfortunately i don't have available external monitor at this time
but i use team viewer program to see whats going on the laptop

Hi mn3m,
You're welcome!
Did you check if the screen flashes while in system BIOS?
Since you have mentioned that the issue did not occur, please observe the system for a day or two and let us know how it goes.
