Dell Latitude 7480 + D6000 Dock - cannot change the display resolution

Hi,

I'm using Dell Latitude 7480 and D6000 Docking station with two displays connected via DP1 and DP2.

The display connected to DP1 works fine (resolution 2560x1440)

The display connected to DP2 works but the only resolution I can set on is 640x480!

The windows 10 system I'm using doesn't allow to change it (the native display resolution is 1920x1080).

The display is connected to the DP2 via DP to HDMI cable. I tried to update all my drivers but nothing helps (currently I'm using DisplayLink 8.5).

Is my setup supporting the configuration like that?

Thanks,

Maciej

Hi mplucins,

Thanks for posting.  Apologies that your device isn't performing as expected.

Here is the information from the manual which shows the resolutions:

Re: Dell Latitude 7480 + D6000 Dock - cannot change the display resolution

Thank you for information,

From the table I see that two 4K displays connected to DP1 and DP2 should be supported (I'm using USB-C connection).

Like I've mentioned the second display works with 640x480 resolution only.

Could you please recommend solution for my problem?

Thanks,

Maciej

Re: Dell Latitude 7480 + D6000 Dock - cannot change the display resolution

Why are you using a DP2 to HDMI cable when the D6000 has an HDMI output?  If you have a third display that you're using on the HDMI output, can you briefly test connecting the display currently having problems on DP2 via HDMI instead and see what happens?

Re: Dell Latitude 7480 + D6000 Dock - cannot change the display resolution

I'm not using HDMI because after I've installed DisplayLink the HDMI stopped working. It means nigher Laptop builtin nor Dock builtin HDMI port is working. I thought that my laptop is not able to support HDMI and two additional DP ports.

Your post doesn't say which monitors you are using.  Could you post back with that information?  Thanks.

Re: Dell Latitude 7480 + D6000 Dock - cannot change the disp

Been experiencing a similar issue, in my case I have 2 Dell E1913 monitors connected to both DP ports on the D6000 dock (Using StarTech DP2VGA2 adapters) and I'm only able to adjust resolution on Display #2.

Display #1 remains at 640 X 480 no matter what I do, any fix o recommendations on how to solve thisCapture.PNG

Re: Dell Latitude 7480 + D6000 Dock - cannot change the disp

I am having the same issue. I have a D6000 dock on a n XPS13 laptop, and I have two Philips 241S monitors connected to the dock. I got the dock in January 2019 and everything worked fine with all screens at 1920x1080, then as of two weeks ago one of the screens will only run @ 640x480, and it cannot be changed - the only option showing is 640x480

I assume some patch or something on Windows has caused this, but I expect Dell as the driver supplier of the dock to fix this ASAP please !

Re: Dell Latitude 7480 + D6000 Dock - cannot change the disp

Further to this, I tried using the drivers direct from displaylink.com, which are much newer then those from Dell. Functionally they seem the same (appearance wise), and it has not solved the 640x480 resolution problem on the third monitor.
