Dell Latitude E6430s BIOS should I update?

Dell took time to release BIOS Meltdown and Spectre, vulnerabilities fixed updates to all models http://www.dell.com/support/home/in/en/indhs1/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=YV2TP

but would it messup anything?
Can I safely install?

How much of free disk space I leave free on OS drive to ensure it doesn't crash any problems?

Though Battery plugged in not charging??https://www.dell.com/community/Latitude/Dell-Latitude-E6430s-battery-not-chargibg/m-p/6072505

Dell did take time. So it can't be that urgent. I will be waiting at least six months before risking this BIOS update. I thought Microsoft had this vulnerability covered anyway.

Re: Dell Latitude E6430s BIOS should I update?

I updated my E6430s to the latest bios ( A20 ) about a week ago and everything is good, no issues whatsoever. I also own an E6430 which was also updated to the latest bios (A22) without a hitch. Kudos to the Dell team.

And by the way I have not noticed any performance hit on either laptop.

Can I apply update after removing battery? Or does it require charged battery only to update BIOS? I succeeded with running /forceit switch
