Dell latitude 5580 compatible tpm chip
I have a Dell Latitude 5580 laptop with biometric finger print reader. Want to enable bitlocker and found that the tpm chip was missing. Can you suggest a tpm chip version 2 and above that would fit in the 5580

@rmit TPM chips are built onto the motherboard. You can't install them separately (or remove them). If you want to use BitLocker, you'll have to enable the mode that allows it to use a regular password without a TPM. You don't get some of the security benefits that way (the platform integrity check), and you should make sure to use a long password to resist brute force attempts (I'd recommend at least 16 characters), but it does work. Here's an article showing how: https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/6229/how-to-use-bitlocker-on-drives-without-tpm/
