E7440 i7 A27 update
Hi fellow Dellers,
The A27 BIOS update popped up as "urgent" in SupportAssist a couple days ago, so I went ahead and installed it. Now, it's not like I'm having any stability-related problems, it isn't even a major nuisance, but I have a pretty bad feeling about maybe having hurt my laptop since the update.
Under the previous BIOS, my E7440 went all the way through POST in 3-5sec and gave me the Win10 login screen. Under A27, it's taking a bit longer (8-10sec) and it does something like a "double POST": the Dell logo appears, the Windows loading circle spins a little, then the Dell logo disappears, the circle spins on and the logo reappears for a couple final spins. When coming back from sleep mode, the screen takes 2sec more to wake up than it did before, and most importantly, I haven't been able to open or reinstall SupportAssist since the update. It loops on "loading PC optimalization tools", and the installer quits.
Did anything bad happen to my precious E7440 and can I do anything about it?
Thanks!
