Latitude 5570 does not power on anymore

Hello from Germany

My 5570 will not turn on anymore. The battery is removed and the power supply is working fine on all other Latitude 5550/5570.
What to do in this case?

Thx and best regards

Do any of the laptop's LEDs light up?

  1. Disconnect the AC adapter.
  2. Remove the battery.
  3. Disconnect all devices and peripherals such as external mouse, USB drives, printer cables, and media cards
  4. Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds to drain residual power.
  5. Reinstall the battery.
  6. Connect the AC adapter
  7. Try again to power on the laptop.

You say that the AC adapter works on other Latitude 5570 laptops. It would also be good if you could insert a known good Latitude 5570 battery into your dead laptop.

If it will boot from a good battery but not from the AC adapter alone, then it could be a failed jack, which can be replaced

If the laptop won't boot with a battery that you know is good and an AC adapter that you know is good, then likely something has failed on the motherboard.

I have no battery in the machine. The old one is dead and im waiting for the replacement.
The power jack: thats a good idea. I will check the jack and teh internal connection to the mobo
