Latitude 7389 Bios Updates Fail

I have a Latitude 7389 where I have installed the Dell Support Assist. It indicates the need for a Bios Update from 1.13 to 1.17. However, over the last several months when I have tried to complete the update it says Firmware Update Failed. I used the Dell Support Assist and have tried to manually install and have been unable to complete any update.

Dell warns that you should not use Support Assist to download and install bios updates. You must go directly to your model's download page and download it yourself. Follow the directions for installing the new bios. Make sure your battery is charged and the adapter is plugged into a wall outlet.

I am having the exact same issue with 7389 and 1.13.  Dell tech support spent and hour on it today and could not solve the issue. its stupid that they have support assist provide install capabilities versus a clear set of instructions.

Issue remains unresolved

I had the same problem, then figured out you have to upgrade your firmware step by step, otherwise, it would fail. My bios was at version 1.11 and the latest available is 1.18, so I had to download and install all the versions in between: 1.13 > 1.15 > 1.16 > 1.17 > 1.18

How would you find the driver installation in order (like where would you download the 1.13 update?)

I had to make an intermediate jump from 1.13 to 1.15, then I could make the jump to 1.20
