Popping when Lat 7410 detects an audio source

Work issued Latitude 7410 just started popping (or clicking) when it detects an audio source. It's connected to an external sound system via the dock but I never had this issue before. It happens for example, when I scroll down a facebook page and videos on the page start to load and/or are recognized. It seems like there's a power management option that turns on the external gear when it senses there's some  audio available. Is there a way to look at that and fix?

I see you resolved the issue by changing registry settings on your computer.  Thanks for letting us know the issue is resolved.

You should go through all subfolders 0000 0001 0002 etc. until you find the key "DriverDesc = Realtek Audio". This folder has subfolder "PowerSettings".

Thanks. I have about 20 instances of Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4d36e96c-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318} and some have \0003\ but  none of those have a power settings key. Any idea where else I could look?

I guess you have the same issue as we had on Latitude 7420. Its the energy saving mode. To disabled follow:

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4d36e96c-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0003\PowerSettings

(0003 can vary. its important that the name is "Realtek Audio".)

ConservationIdleTime

-> ff ff ff ff

IdlePowerState

-> 00 00 00 00

PerformanceIdleTime

-> ff ff ff ff

Thanks but I'm not concerned about the warranty, I just want to know if there's a way to force audio to stay on and avoid the pop when it detects an audio source.
