Trying to find motherboard part number for my E6520
Service Tag: My laptop randomly got stuck at the Dell logo on startup, unable to go into the bios at all. Already did the usual of clearning/replacing the CMOS and discharging the system. I'm sure I need to replace the motherboard but as it turns out the E6520 has several variations of the motherboard and I need to ensure I get the correct one. Unfortunately I can't seem to identity the part number and I'm hoping I don't need to pull the whole laptop apart just to get it, and I've been looking all over the support site and I can't find where it lists the part number for it.

When looking for Dell parts drop the CN-0
Search for XT7CH

Welcome to the Dell Community @IndustryStandard
You have 2 memory slots.
Look on the top of one of the slots for a sticker that has the part number on it.
It might be yellow in color???
CN-0xxxxx

I have 1 other question that I asked about last year but didn't get an answer I think was correct.
The heatsink that covers the GPU had a thermal pad and I was told to just put a thin layer of thermal paste on it, but their is more of a gap than would normally be between a CPU and cooler.
And my experience with the thermal paste instead of pad has been pretty poor, the laptop had pretty high thermals despite doing almost nothing, do you know where I can order thermal pads for this?

Most are 1mm thick.
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=gpu+thermal+pads+1mm&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&LH_PrefLoc=1&_sop=15&_osacat=0&_odkw=cpu+thermal+pads+1mm&rt=nc&LH_TitleDesc=0
For a few dollars you get more than what you need.
