Touchpad
The latest touchpad driver is a step in the right direction, but it still has some serious issues that need to be addressed.
Using the default settings, I found my palms would cause the cursor to jump around when I typed - even though "Disable touchpad while typing" is enabled by default. Disabling mouse clicks with touchpad *should* solve the problem, but it does not, because touch clicks still work on the buttons at the bottom of the touchpad and that happens to be where my palms rest.
Obviously, the palm/typing detection needs to be improved, but more importantly, disabling touchpad mouse clicks should disabled them on the *entire* touchpad.

From my /var/log/apt/history.log:
Start-Date: 2012-09-20 14:43:02
Commandline: aptdaemon role='role-commit-packages' sender=':1.330'
Install: linux-headers-3.2.0-31-generic:amd64 (3.2.0-31.50+kamal7~DellXPS), linux-headers-3.2.0-31:amd64 (3.2.0-31.50+kamal7~DellXPS), linux-image-3.2.0-31-generic:amd64 (3.2.0-31.50+kamal7~DellXPS)
Upgrade: linux-generic:amd64 (3.2.0.30.32, 3.2.0.31.34), linux-headers-generic:amd64 (3.2.0.30.32, 3.2.0.31.34), linux-image-generic:amd64 (3.2.0.30.32, 3.2.0.31.34)
End-Date: 2012-09-20 14:44:31
I rebooted, and while typing this, I'm purposely making sure my thumbs are touching on the trackpad, and my mouse cursor is staying put.
:emotion-22:
Nice work!

Haha, guys I suck it's still building. I'm a tad excited so I jumped the gun. Check the link in my post above. You're looking for kamal8, not kamal7.
I believe it's a VM so it doesn't build in 45 minutes like these babies.

@iandouglas736 color me jealous. my apt history log shows the same updates, but no combination of "disable touchpad while typing" and "enable mouse clicks with touchpad" works to disable touch clicks at the bottom of my touchpad.

@Beacon11 Lordy lord, it works! Or rather the lower trackpad buttons no longer work! Awesome. Now I just have to unlearn typing with an extra wide stance :-)

Many thanks to Beacon11 for analyzing and fixing this bug!
As mentioned, I have applied Beacon11's patch to the Sputnik PPA kernel.
The new Cypress Trackpad driver was also recently incorporated into the stock Ubuntu 12.04 and 12.10 kernels, and the patch has been applied to those as well.
Thanks again, Beacon11.

@Beacon11 you are famous!
@kamalmostafa Thank you too. After 2 months of dealing with it, the bug was starting to get to me and it was great to see how quickly the fix got pushed out once the ball started rolling on it.
Thanks again Beacon11 and kamalmostafa
