XPS 13 9360 Refresh

Hey,

I was wondering if there was a timeline for when the refreshed 9360 will be released with the 8th generation intel cpu? Seem the normal XPS line has already gotten them.

Yikes, the new year is quite a wait :).. Do you know if the non developer edition 8th gen intel laptop is pretty much the same as the 7th gen intel developers edition? Will Ubuntu work with little to no tweaking?

Any details? How about a date? I need to get away from my Macbook Pro soon, it seems to be on it's last leg.

The drivers for KBL-R U that Intel delivered for Linux are the same as for KBL U.

Ok, so if the drivers are the same an XPS 13 non developer edition should function pretty much the same as a developers edition? Will I run into any weird BIOS issues? Or anything else you can think of?

Also wondering if the new xps13 I just bought, with 8th gen intel, will be an easy Ubuntu install.

Yeah, I installed Fedora 27 with a couple BIOS changes. Everything came up and is working great.  I do notice a little coil whining tho :\

No promises, but it should be pretty straight forward :)
