XPS 13 - 9370 (fresh install) Keyboard response

I've reinstalled Ubuntu (16.04) in order to have an encrypted hard drive, and upon typing quickly some characters don't end up being inputted (I've tested elsewhere and it isn't just with repeated characters), this particularly an issue on things like the login screen where I can't see what has been input.

Are there are any changes or hardware settings that would be advisable to change. I've ensured the accessibility settings aren't enabled so it isn't a lag setting and it doesn't impact my 9330.

Any thoughts?

Dell adds some ppas you might want (the only reason I'm not updating or switching distros yet..): https://www.reddit.com/r/Dell/comments/7tt27l/xps13_9370_ubuntu_repository/dtf81c7/

I have the exact same issue and I've already posted before about this: https://www.reddit.com/r/Dell/comments/7umjid/repeating_keystrokes_not_registering_correctly_on/. It's just such a shame that XPS 13 9370 has got such a great form factor and price but such horrible hardware that matters the most for productivity. I've already returned mine. No serious programmer/touch typer is going to be able to use this computer until Dell somehow fixes this issue, which I can't afford to wait for apparently.

Another thread in non-sputnik forum with same issue.

Me too has found this to be a problem.

I am running Manjaro and have the same issue with the keyboard. I've seen people with Windows that have the same problem, so it's probably on the firmware level.

Hope Dell can fix this.

Hi @bubo12 et al, the best thing to do is to call support and report the behavior you're seeing.  By submitting it via support it will be officially tracked.

thanks
