XPS13 9370 bought w/ 16.04, updated to 18.04 success

I bought my 9370 in July, came w/ 16.04.

Recently, 18.04.1 was offered as a software update from the stable release channel. I tried the update process several times, never went through without any error.

I wiped and restored factory 16.04, applied 16.04 updates, and went through the 18.04.1 update process. It ended up with a message about lvm2 issues, and offered to upload the issue to Ubuntu, which I did.

Then I tried to install Gnome3 Machines (VM manager), which failed at the end with another LVM2-related message.

I decided to remove/reinstall lvm2, using:

sudo apt-get purge lvm2
sudo apt autoremove
sudo apt install lvm2

This went fine, and thereon I could install Machines and generally use 18.04.1 without further problems.
