confiure battery life in ubuntu for dell inspiton 14 2in1

Hi,

I installed Ubuntu 22 in my dell inspiron 14 2in1 and I've been trying to configure the battery to maximize its life. According to dell I should  download "Dell Command | Configure," but I cannot find the support for ubuntu (only for windows). Do you have any idea how I could do that?

Thanks!

The tool you are looking for is TLP. It allows you to set various parameters and can use firmware features if supported. It seems Dell unfortunately hasn't been working upstream with TLP to get proper feature support, so it falls back to default options. Here is the documentation page on battery care: https://linrunner.de/tlp/settings/battery.html There is a project called TLPUI to offer a graphical user interface for changing TLP parameters. I don't have experience using it, but it might be a more convenient way into changing TLP parameters.
