The title says it all. I've had friends tell me that I can't dual boot this machine with a linux install because of the Hybrid SSD, and unfortunately my google-fu is failing me in trying to find others who have discussed this. I can neither confirm nor deny what my friends tell me. I find it hard to believe I'm the only one who has wanted to do this on one of these so-called special edition machines.
The problem I am running into is that when I try to run the installer for Kubuntu 12, it recognizes the SSD, but can't do what it needs to do with regards to the boot records. It tells me that I need to muck with the partitions, but on that screen it isn't even registering the partions on the SSD. Even windows only sees 8gb of the 32 on that thing. I'd go straight Kubuntu on this box, but I bought this machine with the intent of serving both development purposes and entertainment; my entertainment choices require a windows OS and I can't stand developing perl on Windows.
