I was told Dell did write some drivers for Ubuntu and this is one of 3 dell machines I have that need one. Does anyone here know how to find out if they do?
I would get the model of the modem card either from the actual card or from the model # in Dell's drivers for your mode. Go to conexants web site or google your question.
Hi: I hope this is enough: Conexant D850 56K V.9X PCI DF Modem ULD is the name of the modem when you look up a 530 inspiron .
Dell Vista driver is:
Release Date: 5/16/2008 Version: Drv32_22.214.171.124, A03
Download Type: Driver File Format: Hard Drive File Size: 2 MB
Dell XP Driver
Release Date: 5/16/2008 Version: Drv32_126.96.36.199, A04
Download Type: Driver File Format: Hard Drive File Size: 1 MB
The numbers on the modem itself are Conextant System Inc RD01-D850 US: CXSMS502BRD01D850
On another tag it says: CN-0JF495-71617 82G-613t-A01 DP/N OJF495
I don't know if this would be of any help but have u tried (in Ubuntu) going to Systems and Hardware Drivers while connected to the net via the NIC?
