Random freezes - Aurora R11 and Linux Mint 20

In Windows 10, my new Alienware Aurora R11 works perfectly.

In Linux Mint 20, the machine does not work so perfectly. The machine will freeze up at random. Keyboard and mouse becomes non-functional. But, if something like a YouTube video is playing when the freeze occurs, the audio can still be heard, but the screen is frozen. The only way to escape this is to hard reset the computer.

I've tried getting help on the Linux Mint forums, but I seem to be just talking to myself. Here is the thread I started:

I have purged the v440 NVIDIA drivers from my system and have installed the v450.57 NVIDIA drivers from a PPA. Currently testing. Hopefully this resolves the freezing issue.

The non-official drivers from this PPA seem to have done the trick:

No more freezes.
