Ubuntu on Studio 15

I have bought a Studio 15 recently. The system configuration is:

Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T6500 (2.10GHz/ 800 FSB/ 2MB Cache); 4GB (2X2GB) DDR2 SDRAM Memory; 256MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570; 320GB SATA Hard Drive 

I want to install Ubuntu linux on it., but hesitant to proceed as I heard a few issues in detecting hardware drivers (like display, sound, etc). I would like to know if the latest version of Ubuntu (9.10) supports the above configuration. Thanks.
