Update to Ubuntu 16.10 - how will my support be affected?

I recently purchased a Precision 5520 (early February) with Ubuntu 16.04 installed. There was a fair amount of teething pain related mostly to the touchpad driver, which I seem to have passed at this point.

I do keep the machine up-to-date, as it seems Ubuntu releases new security updates on an almost daily basis. The Software Updater dialog box is constantly reminding me that 16.10 is available:

Will updating to 16.10 affect any software or hardware support contracts in place from Dell?
