bluetoothd chewing up cpu

I'm running ubuntu 14.04 on a Inspiron 15 7000 series. After I started using a bluetooth keyboard, I notice that bluetoothd is chewing up cpu:

% top

 2922 root      20   0   19416   2152   1756 R  98.1  0.0 272:51.35 bluetoothd

It seems to be stuck(?) in some poll system call, here's the output of attaching to bluetoothd using strace:

poll([{fd=3, events=POLLIN}, {fd=4, events=POLLIN}, {fd=7, events=POLLIN}, {fd=10, events=POLLIN}, {fd=11, events=POLLIN}, {fd=8, events=POLLIN}, {fd=23, events=POLLIN}, {fd=13, events=POLLIN}, {fd=14, events=POLLIN}, {fd=17, events=POLLIN}, {fd=18, events=POLLIN}, {fd=19, events=POLLIN}, {fd=20, events=POLLIN}, {fd=21, events=POLLIN}, {fd=22, events=POLLIN}, {fd=15, events=POLLIN}, {fd=16, events=POLLIN}, {fd=25, events=POLLOUT}, {fd=12, events=POLLIN}, {fd=6, events=POLLIN}], 20, 4294967295) = 1 ([{fd=25, revents=POLLNVAL}])

System details:

$ uname -a
Linux saraswati 3.13.0-44-generic #73-Ubuntu SMP Tue Dec 16 00:22:43 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
bluez  package version: 4.101-0ubunt amd64

Any idea what's happening, and how to fix?

thanks!
