sound on inspriron510m with Mandrake 9.2
hi, there,
I have a strange thing on insiron 510m with Mandrake 9.2. Meanwhile I can hear sound using earphones, internal speakers are silent. Under Windows it's okay...
Aumix settings are fine and generally sound quality is perfect, just internal speakers are muted.
Has anyone experienced something like that? Is there any workaround?

well, it might not help you but here under fedora core 1 the speakers work (console + x).
You need any information that might help you?
btw - thanks for the tip how to modifiy the xfree86 source to avoid the bug in the i810 driver. I will make rpms available for fedora core 1 in the very near future.

did you check whether the volume for the speakers is turned on? On some distributions the speaker volume is set to 0 - no sound
Check it with alsactl and after adjusting the volume settings alsactl store will store the setting.
