out-of-band older DRACs... Alternatives?
It appears that out-of-band functionality is only available on 12G boxes with iDRAC 7s. Even at that there is an additional licensing fee.
Curious if anyone has suggestions on how best to monitor the hardware of older servers running VMware with SCOM 2012. The boxes in question are a combination of DRAC 5s and iDRAC 6s.

You can discover the DRAC5s and iDRAC 6s with the DRAC Management Pack. This does not give you inventory but can provide monitoring for the SNMP alerts from the boxes.
