Dell Venue 11 Pro (7130 VPro) Mini HDMI Port not working

I have my new Venue 11 Pro (7130 VPro) for about a week and I am generally satisfied with it, expect the HDMI problem.

I plugged my tablet into my HDMI TV (a Samsung TV which I don't have its model number right now), and switch the source to HDMI, and set up the second display in my tablet to clone the display to TV, it shows nothing. I tried a few things to find out what is going wrong:

  1. used the same cable to and plug a android TV box to the TV --- the HDMI cable is working
  2. plugged the tablet using the same cable on the two HDMI ports of my TV --- neither of the ports works
  3. checked my tablet's BIOS version --- A15, which should be the latest one
  4. checked my tablet's display card version --- A05, which should be the latest one as of 2015 July
  5. I reinstalled win8.1 in my system, and installed all the latest drivers --- still not working

I have read a bit in this forum and this particular post (http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/mobile-devices/f/4586/t/19630013) mentioned that a hardware replacement maybe the only options, which I don't prefer to take it.

I have two questions regarding my issue:

  1. Has anyone experienced similar thing as I do? I browsed the forum and most of the post on this matter is related to the dock
  2. If the HDMI port cannot be fixed eventually, can I just buy a Dell USB 3.0 to HDMI adapter (http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=470-abhh) that plug it into my tablet, and use the HDML port from the adapter to transfer my video signal to my TV?

Thanks!

Just want to confirm, you've tested the port on multiple devices (not just the Samsung TV) and none of them work?   Trying to determine if perhaps the port is bad (uncommon) or if something else is wrong.
