2408WFP A01 POWER SAVE AND BLINKING ISSUES, STILL!!
Has this issue been solved yet? I really want to throw this beautiful monitor out the window. I'm sorry, I'm frustrated. This monitor only recognizes the signal if I turn it on before I power up my PC. I typically turn my mointor off and keep my PC on if I go out. Im not a big fan of screen savers..Anyway its not even that. The power save function on this monitor is horrid. It goes off randomly, blinks in and out when Im working in Photoshop or even a game. IT WONT WAKE UP TO KEYSTROKES OR MOUSE MOVEMENT like its supposed to. Whats the deal?
I want to turn power save off, its useless.

I have an Nvidia GTX 260 and the lastest WQHL driver and I still have the issue. It was ok for the first few days but the drop in dvi connection link gradually became more frequent.
I hear there is a new A02 revision out there. Maybe that has fixed this problem.

I have a Nvida 9800GT and it does it with mine too. I had a 7950GT and it also did it too. It can be fine when I first turn it on. Then it can blink for a second at random times and then be fine for the rest of the day. I agree that the power save mode is horrible in this monitor. It is too sensitive.

I recieved a replacement but I still received a A01. Can someone confirm that they have A02 in stock at Dell?

All,
You must get an exchange to A02 which should not have this issue. But, the only way to get the A02 is for Dell support to setup a NEW exchange. If they setup a USED exchange, you will get A01. Feel free to tell the technician to look at this post.

Guys, I'm afraid that I have the A02 revision and it still has the powersave issues. By buying a nVidia 8800GT video card, many of the powersave issue above have been minimised, but they still do occur. This is the forth video card I've tested and I think its fair to say that with respect to powersave, the 2408 is a dud. Which is a shame, because in other respects it is a great monitor.
At the moment, I'm going to stick with the display because I've found a video card that it works with - but if in future the powersave issues get worse (and many people have described just that behaviour) - then I'll be looking for a replacement. For those of you with A01 models who can get new A02 models - I think go for it, and I'd be really interested to know if the A02 model fixes your problems.

Chris,
The problem is that the techs kept stating that they do NOT do the NEW exchange after 21 days. I have argued with few techs about that and they all refuses and their supervisors refuses. So it doesn't make any difference. I tried to get A02 with no luck. I'm still stuck with A01. They sent me a refurbished A01 and I sent it back and another tech promised to e-mail me and never did for two weeks. So what is your suggestion?

I wish I could. I do nto have UK dispatch rights. You should contact the UK Unresolved Issues and tell them in the Americas, we are doing the New exchanges to A02.

For me, the A02 fixed my problem with blackout in the starting menu. Also, I havn't experienced in windows black outs so far. I'm liking the A02.

I just recieved the A02 replacement monitor. There is a triangular block of dead pixels near the clock. Calling dell to replace my replacement.

For the weekend the A02 refurbrished replacement was problem free but then I experienced massive image tearing across the screen regardless if my computer was connected. ie. The self test menu was image teared that I couldn't read what's on the floating box. Naturally, I asked for another replacement on the replacement on Monday and I ended up with the A01 again. Like before, I have the random blackouts and signal losses. Ohh well, at least I can use the monitor unlike the refurbrished A02 after a few days. I'll wait for a while for A02 to become more mainstream before attempting anything else.
