2408WFP w/ HDMI Cable Not Full Screen
I recently bought a Dell desktop as well as two 2408WFP monitors. For the first few days I had one monitor running on DVI and the other on VGA, and everything worked fine. My video card also has an HDMI port, so I finally got around to getting an HDMI cable to replace the VGA one, but when I use the HDMI cable that monitor will not display in full screen. According to Display settings, it is at 1900x1200 resolution, but there are black bars around every side of the image on the HDMI monitor. Nothing I do seems to fix it, but with a VGA cable it still works full screen. My video card is an ATI HD3450.

The slider is moved all the way to the right, yes. In the device manager two monitors show up, both as "Plug & Play Monitors." It appears that I can actually update those drivers to monitor drivers. Maybe I will try that and post my result. I'm in "fill mode" in the OSD.

You download the driver and run it. It will expand to a folder. You then open the Device Manager- Monitors, right click on what is listed and update the driver. Point it to where the files are and choose the inf file.

Malignon,
And the slider bar is moved all the way to the right? Does the 2508WFP show in the Device Manager- Monitors? Open the OSD (On Screen Display)

- Display Settings. What wide mode are you in?

I've switched my 2nd monitor back to HDMI and rebooted my machine. I tried to update the driver, but Windows is not recognizing any compatible drivers for the monitor in its online search. It recognized "Dell 2408WFP (Digital)" for the monitor on DVI, and "Dell 2408WFP (Analog)" for the 2nd monitor when it was on VGA. But now that I have it plugged back into HDMI, the only compatible driver is "Plug and Play Monitor."

Downloaded the driver, updated the second monitor to 2408WFP (Digital), and nothing changed. Rebooted, still the same problem. During the boot sequence the monitor displays on the full screen, but once it gets into Windows, I get the black bars.

Just tested with ATI HD 3650 with the latest driver from ATI websites.
I don't see any problem on DVI or HDMI (1920 x 1200)
You might want to try to get the latest driver from ATI websites.
Thanks

I do have the latest drivers, but my card is the 3450, not the 3650. It's also a Made By ATI. I've basically made no progress - I don't know what else to try.

Using the HDMI cable by itself as the primary monitor, turn off the PC and the monitor. Turn on the monitor then the PC. Does the HDMI still show black bars at 1920x1200?
Now, attach a second monitor to DVI as secondary. What happens to the HDMI resolution?
