2408wfp A02 improper sync

Hi,

I just bought an 2408wfp monitor. Started using it with a Lenovo w500 via a DisplayPort powered by an ATI FireGL V5700 card.

Yesterday it seemed to be working fine...

Today, I restarted the laptop and was greeted with noise in the image (bad timings?).

Most of the time it refuses to show anything at all on the screen and cause my video card to resync indefinitely.

I downloaded softMCCS and did a factory reset, that did not help.

VGA has no issues.

I have found a workaround that works most of the time.

I switch the monitor to VGA input, plug in the Display Port cable, then switch to the DisplayPort input.

In this case the monitor syncs properly.

Any Ideas?

ltctech,

Have you tried powering the monitor off, connecting the laptop, power the laptop on, then the monitor?

I have tried getting it up in several ways, including the above way.

This is the only way I can make it work:

1. Turn on monitor

2. Switch monitor input to something that is not DisplayPort e.g. VGA (without plugging anything in)

3. Plug in the DisplayPort cable

4. Let video card realize a monitor was connected (Laptop LCD blinks)

5. Switch monitor input to DisplayPort

6. Monitor works as expected

I am not quite sure if the laptop's video card is at fault or the monitor, or the combination of the two.

Has anyone had issues using this monitor with an ATI FireGL V5700 or ATI HD3650 (similiar card)?
