3007WFP monitor power button won't work

Hi,

I have a 3007WFP, obviously out of warranty as it's 7 years old now.  The capacitive touch power button started intermittently working a few months ago, and now it doesn't work at all.  Unplugging the monitor for a while sometimes helped, but doesn't seem to help anymore.

I'm familiar enough with electronics and soldering if need be.  Though I've never worked with a capacitive touch button before.  Is there some sort of common sensor that needs to be replaced or should I just wire in a new mechanical button, or is there something else causing the problem I should look into?

Wondering what I should be looking for before I pull the thing apart.

Thanks

magnus333,

Dell does not repair monitors or sell internal monitor components. We do not even have monitor repair/disassembly documentation. We simply replace them while under warranty. Hopefully another user will have data you can use.
