Alienware Optx AW2310 problems with 120Hz

Hey, Searched all over the internet for a solution to this issue. I have the above monitor. Every time I change it to 120Hz, it gets all fuzzy. When I open the monitor settings, it says my monitor is running at 960x1080 @ 120Hz. I cannot get it to change to 1920x1080 @ 120Hz. I read that the issue was due to having a DVI-D single link cable. So I bought a DVI-D dual link cable, still have the same issue. I'm running an GTX 1060 6GB and i5-6600k. Any ideas of what the issue could be. I would really like to see things at 120Hz, especially the 3D stuff. Thanks.
