Can I stream video clips from a USB stick with no PC attached? U2412M

I suspect the answer is no but....

I have two U2412M Monitors, each with a couple of USB ports on the side which the manual decscribes as "downstream".

My interest is in using these monitors to stream video clips and images from a USB stick with no PC attached - I have seen this done on other monitors of different types.

Is this possible on the U2412M monitors and if so how?

More in hope than expectation - thanks.

You suspicion is right. The downstream ports can used to access flash drives on a computer, but only if the monitor is connected to the system using a USB upstream port on the monitor. This enables the monitor to work as usb hubs.

You would still not be able to just use the monitor to watch videos. The USBs will only be ready by the computer not by the monitor, unlike TVs with usb support.

Hope this was helpful.
