Connecting Two Monitors to a Dell Dimension XPS 420 Computer
I plan to connect two 24" Dell Ultrasharp monitors to my Dimension XPS 420 computer via digital connectors on both monitors. However, the video card only has one DVI-I connector. Do I need to a new video card with two DVI connectors, and if so, what type of video card will fit this computer and allow two digitally connected monitors? If a new video card is not needed, then how can I use the current one to connect the two monitors without using VGA connectors?
Re: Connecting Two Monitors to a Dell Dimension XPS 420 Computer
Almost all video cards sold now can support dual monitors. Shop around to find what you want. You should mention which video card you have now in the 420. My 420's original separate video card supported dual monitors. If you have integrated video, you will need a new card. Also notice what size power supply you have since that model came with 2 diff psu's. 375w standard & 425w which was an optional upgrade.
