Dell U2711 monitor with DisplayPort important tip: Without Dell driver it doesn't work correctly (Win7)

After reading some threads here, and having the same problem with a Dell U2711 monitor attached to a DisplayPort, I found out, that the problems stopped when installing the Dell driver from their homepage.

It is not possible to install that driver directly. You have to right-click on the monitor properties in Windows and give the path to the driver.

After doing this the monitor name changed, showing now "Dell U2711 (DP)". If this is not the case for you, then don't be suprised, the monitor will fade out from time to time and doing other strange things..
