Re: Dell Webcam Manager

I have problem with Dell Webcam, can't reccord video because the audio does not work. Shortly after I got a new Studio  1555  It stopped working.

Since Then I try to solve the problem using all  the help Dell provide online, expecting to get a link with detailed instuction how to repair the product still under warranty. On the searching way I am redirected all the time to  different department  everyone with huge  out of topic material  and I find no help to my problem. thereafter I regognized the issue as the unsolve one and stoped  looking further. This is my solution.

Hope it is helpful.

Re: Dell Webcam Manager

Chris - which version of the Dell manager do you recommend for the Latitude e6500 running windows 7?  I can use the webcam, but can't get the webcam manager to recognize the integrated webcam.

Re: Dell Webcam Manager

Hi,

I've experienced the same 'driver not installed' message. I installed the webcam manager software recommended (R199836) but still get that message. I have a Studio 1535 laptop and am using the latest Creative integrated webcam drive off of the Dell support site. OS is Vista 32 Home Premium. I'd really appreciate knowing if there are other drivers I should be using or if there's a workaround to this problem. It seems pretty common!

thanks

Re: Dell Webcam Manager

I have just bought a vostro 1720 laptop, couldn`t get anywhere with the webcam, even the remost assistant from Dell couldn`t, had to eventually download a Vista driver to enable  it. not impressed with Dell, this item was sold to me under false pretences. So be aware...windows 7 has NO driver for a webcam as yet....

Re: Dell Webcam Manager

I also have a E6500 in which I am running Windows 7 x64 but cannot get the WebCam application to recognize the builtin webcam.  External applications like Skype work fine with the webcam.  I am hoping you can hellp me out.  Thx....

Re: Dell Webcam Manager

I used a program called manycam and it works great. I can actually use the webcam at will and take snapshots. Recording video is another thing, but at least the camera is useful now. Hope this helps for all those Windows 7 - E6500 people...
