Dual Monitor for 580S?
I have a Dell Inspiron 580S. I see that there is no other port to hook up a monitor or adapter.
Is there any way I can hook up a second monitor? I use the computer for work and a second monitor would be a great help. I've read a few things about USB Monitors but I wasn't sure if that would work in my case.

Hi NWABCS,
Please let us know which video card is installed on the system. You can use a VGA or DVI splitter to connect two monitors.
For your reference please check these pictures:

I have the blue one, the VGA. Is there a suggested adapter that works best?

I'm looking to extend my desktop, not have the same image on two screens.
Sorry, should have stated that before.
Would that adapter work for extending my desktop?

Hi NWABCS,
Thanks for verifying the answer. You can use any VGA splitter available online or any local PC store and it should work fine.
Also, I would to inform you that VGA splitter is not designed to do an extended desktop. It is designed to mirror the primary display. You will need to add a video card that has two monitor ports.
If you have any further queries, please feel free to contact us.
Thanks and Regards
