E171fp monitor

I have an E171FP monitor. For some bizarre reason it  will start  auto adjusting on its own. in the past I have hit the menu button on the monitor clicked on factory reset, and all is well once again. But now when I hit the menu button it takes a while but I get a service info screen  that won't go away until I power off the monitor.  I have unplugged the monitor from the computer and the power supply. The self test seemingly does what it should. I have downloaded the driver and the recommended mode is at the 1280 x 1024 @60hz. I don't know what to do from here.

don't have another working computer readily available.  The only one I can think of that has a computer is my ex-husband's soon to be ex-wife.Don't really want to get into that situation.

is there any thing else i can check or do?

Test the monitor on another PC.

Could you test it at work or at a neighbors?
