E228WFP, auto off after 20 seconds

Hi all,

Just want to ask, what is the problem with my dell monitor model E228WFPc when I turn on the windows will appear but after a few seconds more or less 20 the screen light will turn off? Also, I want to know if monitor has a backlight?

Thank you, hope to hear you soon.

Yes, it has a backlight power component. Run the monitor Self-Test Feature Check, page 33. If it passes, the monitor is fine.

thank you Dell-Chris M. I thought i lost this post. I didn't know it was transferred to peripherals category. I am a new member and am not familiar the entire features of the system yet but am learning.

Thanks again.

Hi Chris M,

This is just a follow up question, what I mean is a backlight LED. Can I replace the LED only or the entire LCD screen?

Thanks

It is possible if you can find the parts and instructions from a 3rd party reseller. We do not have any listings of such sellers.

I have no idea. We never repair them, only replace the whole monitor.
