GX280/X300 Dual Monitor Options?
My company just dropped a new Optiplex GX280 [~3 Ghz] with a Radeon x300 card and 17 inch flat panel on my desk. Very nice. But I was running an Optiplex GX260, which had a video card with a 36-pin Plug & Display [P&D] connector which I hung a y-cable off of to run 2 VGA monitors.
The new PC has a DVI connector which is smaller than the P&D connector. I am currently running the flat panel as a VGA monitor. Can I run 2 monitors off of my new video card or should I install a second video card or should I hunt for a new video card that had dual monitor support?
This is running XP Professional version 2002 SP1.
The Display Properties/Settings shows 2 monitors [1/2] with Plug and Play Monitor on RADEON X300 Series and Plug and Play Monitor on RADEON X300 Series Secondary
Adapter says RADEON X300 SE with 64 MB.

Unfortunately you will need a new graphics card to use dual monitors. The ATI x300 SE (DVI+TV-out with 64MB of video memory) does not support dual monitors. You would need the ATI x300 (128MB of memory and support for VGA and DVI Y-cables.)
Edit: the driver may look like it supports dual monitors (it very well might), but only using a TV as the 2nd display.
