I need explanation of pixel policy regarding 2209WA

Hi,

I have more or less decided to get a 2209WA monitor. I would however want to know more about the pixel policy.

I want to know all about the pixel policy, including (number of pixels needed for replacement unit and so on):

  1. Dead pixels. Those who are black.
  2. Stuck pixels. Those who always display a color.
  3. Bright pixels. Those who are brighter than surrounding pixels.
  4. Dark pixels. Those who are darker than surrounding pixels.

I want to know how each situation is handled and in which situations a replacement unit is shipped.

Re: I need explanation of pixel policy regarding 2209WA

* Dead, Dark, Stuck pixel = Must have 6 or more to get a replacement monitor

* Bright pixel = Must have 6 or more to get a replacement unless you have an UltraSharp, Professional, or Alienware OptX monitor. One or more Bright pixel defect on those models means you get a replacement monitor

Re: I need explanation of pixel policy regarding 2209WA

The monitor is a UltraSharp.

So basically, a screen with five red pixels would be fine?

Is there any explanations for the differences between dead, dark, stuck and bright pixels anywhere?

* Yes.

* Not as far as warranty is concerned. Wikipedia might have some but we do not.
