Monitor SP2309W with soundbar AX510

Hi!

I've just received my brand new monitor SP2309W with Soundbar AX510 but I have no idea where I have to plug the black connector of the soundbar...

Welcome to the forums :emotion-21:

You'll find the manual (pdf) - with diagrams showing where/how to connect it to a monitor - here :emotion-5:

Thank you :emotion-1:

that manual is included with the soundbar, and  in the monitor manual there is a section about the soundbar too. But both manuals are contradictory.

In the soundbar manual says you have to plug the green connector to the computer, while in the monitor manuals says yo have to plug it to the monitor.

And the power connector, I don't know where to connect it...

Hi,

Dell didn't even have the decency to send me the correct soundbar for the same price.  I had to pay more to get the right part even though Dell told me to get the wrong part.  Noone at Dell would authorize sending me the AX510PA for the price I paid for the AX510 (even though Dell charges the exact same price for the AX510PA.)

Hi,

I ordered the SP2309W monitor with my Dell Studio. The SP2309W documentation is incorrect. There is nowhere on the SP2309W monitor where you can plug in the short 12 inch power plug which comes from the AX510 speaker bar. One must use AX510PA speaker bar with the SP2309W monitor. I spent hours on the phone and chatting with Dell Support personnel.  During my fourth contact I got hold of someone from the Monitor group who finally confirmed that the SP2309W cannot use the AX510 speaker bar and customer's should use the AX510PA speaker bar with a SP2309W monitor.

As a side note, Someone posted on the Dell SP2309W monitor reviews on February 1, 2009 that the AX510 speaker was the wrong speaker bar and one had to use the AX510PA speaker bar.

I had the same problem, purchased the AX510 as that's what the Dell website says to use. Got it and then realised it's the wrong one, ordered the PA now so waiting for it to arrive for my SP2309W.

I just got my SP2309W and yes, you definitively need the audiobar with the power adapter.

It's too bad, really, I really don't get why dell didn't have it built into the monitor like for other models.

This also means that when you are done with the audio it will not power down itself.. you will have to power it

down manually... Rather annoying...

Well, the SP2309W is the best alternative to the extremely expensive Apple cinema displays with camera

speakers and microphone. I guess it's of "ok" quality.
