Monitor 'entering power save' when playing computer games.

Thank you for reading my post, first off.

I am having problems with my computer. Whenever I am playing certain computer games (Age of Empires III, Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway), in the middle of the game, the screen will go blank, and a message with 'entering power save' will come across, and the computer will freeze, causing me to reboot my computer manually.

I have contacted both Microsoft and Ubisoft concerning this, and I have tried everything they have suggested, which they both led me back to Dell.

All of my drivers are current.

Here are the specs of my computer:

CPU: Dell Dimensions E521

Monitor: Dell E228WFP

Video card: NVIDA Geforce 9500 GT (Refresh rate: 60Hz)

DirectX verizon 11

Operating System: Windows Vista 32bit

Again, I have all updated and current drivers. Any suggestions (constructive) would be helpful.

Thank you.

Disable all power management options. What are the ports on the video card? To what port on the video card is the monitor connected?

Chris M,

Thanks for the response.

I disabled all power management options. and there are 2 ports, with 3 connections.

2 DVI ports - I1 and I2

1 S-video port.

The montior is plugged into DVI I2 right now.

Again thanks for the response, look forward to hearing from you soon.
