S2440L, not displaying HD on PS3

I purchased this monitor some months ago for my PS3. The problem is that when I change my settings to HD (720p, 1080p) on my PS3, the screen starts flickering but in 480p resolution, everything works fine. I have tried "holding power button until two beeps" method on my PS3 but the problem is still with me. The same HDMI cable works flawlessly with HDTV, though.

We did not provide an HDMI to HDMI cable with this monitor. Be sure you are testing a high speed cable.

I've managed to buy another HDMI cable (M2000HD by Monster). This is the only cable with higher price rate in my country. I've bought three HDMI cables until now, but none of these cables did the decent job with my monitor. I keep wondering why all of these cables support FULL HD in my friend's HDTV but not in my monitor. This new cable also gives me the same problem I mentioned above.

We know that the S2440L supports 1920x1080, HDMI playback 480p, 480i, 576p, 576i, 720p, 1080p, 1080i. I really think this is a PS3 setup issue.

* With both the monitor and PS3 on and using a straight HDMI to HDMI cable (not a DVI to HDMI converter), power off the PS3 via the power switch in the back and then power it back on with that same switch
* Hold the Power Button on the front of the PS3 until you hear 2 beeps. Once it powers up, the screen should display a message something like, "An HDMI cable has been detected, do you want to set it up?"
* Then, go here to set the Video Output for your TV/Monitor
* When you go through the setup for setting up HDMI, you will need to check the boxes of which video output modes your monitor supports (480i/480p/576i/576p/720p/1080i/1080p)
* After you go through the intial HDMI setup and your PS3 is displaying through the HDMI cable, on the PS3's main menu, go to Settings and then scroll down to Display Settings. In Display Settings, put the RGB Full Range (HDMI) on Full and put Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr Super-White (HDMI) to On
