S2716DG, GTX 1080, DP not working
I bought an S2716DG monitor around nine months ago and used an HDMI cable to connect it to my computer (with a GTX 1080). I recently attempted to use a DP cable (the one that came with the monitor) and I keep getting an “entering power saving mode” when I switch the input to it. The manufacturing date was September 2017. In my Nvidia settings “prefer maximum performance” is enabled and I have tried most of the fixes I saw online. Help would be appreciated.

* Turn the PC off
* Disconnect every cable from the GTX 1080
* Turn the S2716DG off
* Disconnect every cable from the S2716DG (power, USB, Line-out, DP, HDMI)
* Press and hold in the S2716DG power button for 8 seconds
* Reconnect the power cable to the S2716DG
* Connect to the GTX 1080 =
GTX 1080 DP out port --> S2716DG DP to DP cable --> S2716DG DP in port
* Turn the S2716DG on, then the PC. If no go, test all other DP out ports on the GTX 1080. Still no go, purchase another DP to DP cable locally and test it
