S2716DG, GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, Nvidia G-SYNC wont stay on?
I have a Dell monitor S2716DG with Nvidia G-SYNC. I never realized that it was always in normal mode even after I enabled G-SYNC in the Nvidia control panel. The only way I've been able to get the G-SYNC mode to turn on through the monitor is plug in the HDMI cord, then unplug it and the screen refreshes and the monitor will say its in G-SYNC mode. Every time I go into a game or turn the computer off, it always goes back into normal mode. I've downloaded all the new drivers for GPU and monitor. Uninstalled and reinstalled them as well. Not sure what the deal is. Please help.

* Your setup =
GTX 1080 Ti DP out port --> S2716DG DP to DP cable --> S2716DG DP in port
* Right-click on the Windows Desktop
* Click Display Settings- Advanced Display Settings- Display adapter properties
* Click the Monitor tab
* Change Screen refesh rate to 144Hz
* Click Apply- OK
* Right-click on the Windows Desktop and select Nvidia Control Panel
* Select Display on the left pane and then choose Set Up G-SYNC
* Check the box next to Enable G-SYNC
* Select Manage 3D Settings on the left pane
* Under Global Settings tab, locate Vertical Sync
* Click the drop-down and select G-SYNC
* Press the S2716DG Menu button
* The bottom should show G-SYNC 2560x1440 144Hz
Now, once you have verified all of that above, do a windows restart. What happens?

i don't have the option under the drop down tab to select g sync. Everything else i have followed exactly and it still says normal mode even after i restart the computer.

I do not think the fault is with the monitor. You should post the issue and all of your hardware on the GeForce 1000 Series forum. Many other GeForce 10xx customers are reporting this same issue with ours and other vendors G-SYNC monitors. Points to the drivers as the culprit.
