Got a monitor with dim/grey areas around the edges of the monitor when displaying a white screen/image, is this normal? My problem is the screen seems to have some dim areas around the edges most notably on the left and bottom edges when displaying a full white screen. If anyone has any idea as to what this could be or if it's normal or not would be much appreciated, the box did seem pretty beaten up and the stand for the monitor had what looked to be smudge marks from fingers. So could this be open box and someone saw this problem and returned it? I also checked if it was backlight bleed and from what I can see it doesn't exhibit the same symptoms as backlight bleed the grey areas only show up on a white screen.
Was this purchased directly from Dell? What is the 20 digit S/N? We need to see the issue.
* Open the OSD (On-Screen Display) Menu
* Go to Others
* Select Factory Reset- Enable (page 34)
* Exit the OSD
* Run the BID (Built-in Diagnostics) (page 40)
* Take and post pictures of the colored full screens showing the issue
Hello! Thanks for the quick reply.
Did everything that you asked but the issue persisted, I did take some picture which I will attach but I'm not sure if you'll be able to see the issue properly. Let me know what you think and if this is normal.
I'm finding the issue is easiest to see on white but I included red ones for comparison.
Based on the BID (Built-in Diagnostics) pictures, it passes our manufacturer specifications for overall uniformity. We would not exchange it. If purchased directly from Dell, you have the option of returning it inside the first 30 days from the purchase invoice date.
