S2719DC, RTX 2080, HDR and Freesync connection

Hi all! I am an owner of an RTX 2080 with a USB C output and I am currently expecting my new Dell S2719DC. I know for a fact that Freesync doesn't work over HDMI so USB C is the only way to go. But I've read that HDR is not supported over USB C. Do you happen to know if that's the case? Ideally I would like to connect it directly USB C from my RTX to the USB C of the monitor or at least DP to USB C. HDR functionality if crucial over Freesync, after all my 2080 is powerful enough to give me 60fps at 1440p all the times so Freesync would be of minor usage. But HDR is crucial and if USB C doesn't support it, HDMI will be the only way. Please advice! Thanks in advance :)
