SE198WFP do not display 1440X900

Hi,

I recently purchased a dell SE198WFP monitor to connect to my laptop. I am not able to select resolution 1440X900, which is  the monitor's supported mode.

My graphics adaptor is "Interl(R) 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics controller".  Also noticed the List of valid modes from the properties do not have 1440X900 displayed.

Now the best match mode I could select is 1280X1024 which give me a blurred(stretched) character look.  Is that my graphics card on my laptop do not support the dell monitor for 1440X900 ?  Any help is much appreciated.

Di you install the driver for the monitor?

I believe I have installed the driver which has come on the CD.  I want to cross verify whether the driver is correct - unfortunately the driver for SE198WFP is NOT available for download from the dell website

Is your monitor identified by its name in windows or is it a generic monitor?
