ST2410 via HDMI no sound from laptop internal speakers

My apologies if this is a duplicate, but the web gave me a retry later error message

If I connect the HDMI cable to the monitor and computer I loose sound from my computers internal speakers. All seems to work just fine if I connect the monitor to my laptop via the VGA cable. Nothing fancy here, just no sound at all. Looked at downloading drivers but it appears that my drivers are all up to date.

I am not sure why the laptop audio is shutting off, perhaps the HDMI out on the laptop does this by design? You would need to ask the Laptop Audio board. The HDMI audio is being sent into the monitor. You should plug speakers or a headset into the bottom monitor Audio Line out jack to hear the HDMI audio.

Thanks I will contact the audio board
