Studio XPS 1640 DP (Display Port) Output Causes Video Blank Out
Using the Studio XPS 1640 DP with a U2711 or 3008WFP will cause blank in/out intermittantly, as the failure depends on whether the higher link rate (2.7Gbps/lane) is selected by the PC. There is no fix for this. Connect the Studio XPS 1640 to these monitors using VGA or DVI.

hi chris,
im currently using Studo XPS 1640 with ATI Mobility Radeon hd3670 > VGA cable > u2311h rev a01 September panel
i have some queries:
1. i have some horizontal flickering lines on a full black screen. what may be causing this ? the cable?
2, i've read issues with displayport - displayport connection. if im using DP-DP cable, will my setup face the same problem?
3. would you recommend me using DP>>DP cable or HDMI>>DVI cable to connect my XPS 1640 to the u2311h?
4.will the DP>>DP / HDMI>>DVI cable give much more improvement in display than VGA cable?
