U2414H and Power Save Mode
I have Two U2414H monitors that I just purchased 5 days ago connected to a Dell Advanced Docking Station connected with the provided DP>mDP cable.
Video 1 DP to mDP Monitor
Video 2 DP to mDP Monitor
The laptop is a Precision M4700 with all the latest drivers (I even installed the monitor drivers).
Every morning when I come into work I dock my laptop and the monitors stay in power save mode with the white LED blinking. I have to power off the monitors and back on for them to work. When I power off the monitors I can here the "Windows Detected Hardware Sound" so the computer knows the monitors are there just not displaying the desktop/login screen on the monitors.
The Date of Manufacturer is June 2014.

At the end of your work day, are you powering the M4700 off, then removing it from the dock? Or are you simply closing the lid and disconnecting from the dock?

Can you connect the monitors NOT using DP? Because the DP doesn't work right on this monitor, there are dozens of threads about this problem here on the forum.
My tip: Try connecting them over HDMI. And if you have to use DP avoid daisy chains.

Here is what I do daily.
---NEXT DAY---
I do not daisy chain using the DP 1.2 protocol
I can't use HDMI since the docking station doesn't support it. The Advanced Docking station supports VGA, DVI or DP. Since the monitor only supports DP (of these three the docking station has) I'm stuck using the DP.

It sounds like you are allowing the monitors to just go into power save mode over night instead of turning them off?
Try this -
* Turn the laptop off
* Turn both monitors off
* Remove the laptop from the dock
* Replace the laptop into the dock
* Turn both monitors on
* Turn the laptop on

That is what I have been doing to resolve the issue currently.
Every other monitor I have tried (P1914S, P2314H, U2312) work as expected and designed. They enter power save mode when there is no signal and them fire up when the signal has returned. I have never had to power them off and then back on.
If I dock my laptop, power it on, then power off and back on the monitors they come up just fine. They do NOT recover from power save mode when using the mDP.

Yes that fixes it and that is what I have been doing to get it to return to a workable state, but that is not a solution.
The previous two sets of monitors (P2314, P1914S, U2312) worked just fine coming out of Power Save mode once the laptop had been docked and powered on.
The problem seems to be with the mDP and not properly detecting an input from the computer/docking station and recovering from the power save mode.

I agree, not a solution, simply a workaround. We currently do not have a fix for this but are still working towards one. Your choices are:
* Wait for a possible solution and do the workaround
* Return the monitors for refund (Must be done through Customer Service)

Seeing the same thing with the Venue 11 Pro 7130.

FYI: I ordered, received and tried two new U2415 monitors (ordered for the 1920x1200 resolution) and they work as expected. They enter power save mode and then turn back on once I dock and boot.
I'll just return the U2414H monitors but there needs to be a firmware update to fix the issue.
