U2711, DUCCS, calibrating, profiling

Calibrating & profiling wide gamut monitors can be more complicated than standard (sRGB) gamut monitors and will actually produce worse results via certain hardware & / or software (i.e. used for calibration & profiling).

I see that Dell has introduced DUCCS:
- https://www.dell.com/community/Monitors/DUCCS-Downloads/td-p/4660194
- https://www.dell.com/support/article/au/en/audhs1/sln299127/dell-ultrasharp-color-calibration-softwa...

However, there appears to be no references to the U2711. Does DUCCS work with the U2711?

What is Dell's guidance on calibrating and profiling the U2711 in order to ensure color accuracy, which has inevitably slipped over time from its initial state?

Yes, I realise that about the X1XTW - It was just another example of a Dell UltraSharp Color Calibration Solution (i.e. DUCCS).  Likewise, the 3rd link refers to a (different?) DUCCS for 2 other monitors.

You state "DUCCS was never validated with the U2711" so does that just mean it has never been tested or that it definitely won't work?

You advise to "explore 3rd party monitor calibration options" but it's clear that some create an almighty mess and make things worse:

Does Dell not have any suggestions or guidance in connection with such wide gamut monitors?

* Driver X1XTW is only for the Dell Canvas 27

* DUCCS was never validated with the U2711. The FAQ you linked to shows the applicable monitors associated with the DUCCS version. You will need to explore 3rd party monitor calibration options

* Correct. Will not work.

Unfortunately, yes, we do not. We ship all of our monitors with a manufacturer chosen baseline. For the U2711, we see in the User's Guide =

"Factory calibrated to an average delta E of < 5 under sRGB and Adobe RGB input source for brand new Dell monitor U2711. Dedicated Custom Color Mode (6-axis Color-control) for Saturation , Hue, Gain (RGB) and offset(RGB)."

"Color Gamut 110%* NTSC typical , 100% sRGB, 96% Adobe RGB"

"U2711 Color Gamut (Typical) is based on CIE1976 (110%) and CIE1931 (102%)"

The U2711 Menu On-Screen Display -Other Settings has the option to Factory Reset, Reset All Settings.

That is as far as Dell goes. Any calibration with a hardware colorimeter and its software is not something we deal with.
