U2713H, A09, Firmware question
I READ http://jmswrnr.com/blog/the-firmware-issues-of-dell-up3214q-and-up2414q-a00-monitors/
I quote:"
- Make sure your monitor is powered off
- Hold
Button 2
,Button 4
and theButton 6 (Power)
untilButton 1
blinks, this will boot the monitor up in Factory Mode - Now the monitor is on, just tap
Button 1
to open the Factory Menu. - Once you are done with the menu, I would recommend turning off your monitor with
Button 6 (Power)
to prevent accidentally changing anything important."
Does these applies to all Dell monitors, including U2713H? YES.
Please look at my image at http://imageshack.com/a/img922/2307/bqtkfX.jpg
From the images of above U2713H how to read the below because the comparison with the former screenshot is different?
Rev: A09
Manufactured date: ??? 20??
Firmware: M1B002
Please help. Thank you.

Hi Robert P,
Thank you for the added info but it did not answer my question.
I asked "From the images of above U2713H how to read the below because the comparison with the former screenshot is different?
1. Firmware Rev: A0?
2. Manufactured date: ??? 20??
3. Firmware: ???? (4 digits)
Do you know what I ask? Thank you.

Hi Chris M,
I followed instruction as above mentioned. "Once you are done with the menu, I would recommend turning off your monitor with Button 6 (Power) to prevent accidentally changing anything important." So I did not void the warranty.
Yes, the both monitors are different.
Do you know how to read the screenshot of U2713H as below;
- I like to know U2713H'S 1) Firmware Rev? 2) Manufactured Date? & 3) Firmware? - 4digits.

cheeychea,
The Dell monitor Factory Service Menu is used only by our service centers. If you enter the Factory Service Menu and make a change that cripples or breaks the monitor, the purchased warranty is voided. You should only be using the OSD (On Screen Display) as seen in the U2713H User's Guide page 38.
You cannot compare the U2713H Factory Service Menu with other models (UP3214Q/UP2414Q). They are different monitors using different internal components and panels. It's apples to oranges. The Menu does not list the A0x version or build date. That is on the label.

The firmware revision is A09 as seen on the back label. The build date is part of the 20 serial number on the label. What is it? I do not see a 4 digit revision code in there. Wondering why you need to know all of this data?

Thank you to Chris M. I know PPID/Serial No. 20 serial number; it has the manufactured date to verify the Firmware A00 or 1019 &1003.
In my first threads, I quote as below;
On the left is the replacement sent from Dell (Rev: A00, Manufactured date: Jan 2014, Firmware: 1019)
On the right is my old monitor (Rev: A00, Manufactured Date: Oct 2013, Firmware: 1003)

The pictures they posted do not list the 4 digit firmware number. No idea where they got that. We do not release a firmware update to customers. All firmware updates are done at the Dell Service Center on returned and New monitors. The only way to get a monitor with a different firmware is via a used exchange.

The Dell sales/show room salesmen can show me how to see the firmware, I quote "•Hold Button 2, Button 4 and the Button 6 (Power) until Button 1 blinks, this will boot the monitor up in Factory Mode", EXCEPT you know but NOT to reveal in here! Even the Dell Support chat and Support email will not reveal too EXCEPT outside of Dell Forums. I used 3rd party software/apps/tools and I can see what I wanted to know the above mentioned.

1. This U2713H is IPS panel; in Dell data sheet specifies a 6 ms response time (GtG)? The overall response time (from-to and back) that we averaged across our 15 measurements is only slightly longer at 11.8 ms.
2. The U2713H does not include an Overdrive option?
3. Both U2713H and U2413 have the same hardware, firmware, no overdrive.... issues
4 An attempt at the display modes Standard, Games, or Movie also showed no difference in response time!
5. Too many problems with Dell Monitors firmware, DP, 6ms, similar hardware with U2413!
